Originally released in 1978 it took the world by storm and was a major turn for its young stars John Travolta and Australian music export Olivia Newton-John. It is impossible to deny the appeal of (and the urge to the sing along to) Travolta and Newton-John ripping through “Summer Nights” and “You’re The One That I Want”.
Set in the super cool days of the 1950s, the gang from Rydell High sing, dance and rev up the screen, with some help from a little Greased Lightnin’, to become one of the most enduring classics of all time that has only gained in popularity over the decades. Now ingrained as a staple of modern popular culture, it is still, at its core, an infectious little musical comedy.
